I'm an artist, but also someone who needs to make a living,and sometimes I find that I don't always get to do the things I want to do like create art. The only piece I've had time to work on in the last six months was Reconstructing Nature 2009. I feel amiss at not having made use of what little free time I have these days toward what makes me happiest, and that would be creating my art. However, it's a little disheartening knowing you can create all the pieces you want, but what the hell are you going to do with them if you don't have the time to promote yourself. It's depressing having a passion for something that no one will ever see or share.
My life pretty much sucks right now. I only have time to even be typing things here because I believe I have lost my job, or rather I think I have quit or need to or whatever. Like most people these days I'm worried about my future, I'm going through divorce and my future ex is making things difficult, though I am sure he would say the same of me. I feel I have lost my path in life and have no idea where I am going. Life is getting me down and I have some great ideas for some pieces I want to create but because I am feeling so shitty I'm don't even care.
Bottom line, I need to do what makes me happiest, but I have bills to pay and no one is paying to see my art posted here or anywhere else so I'm unhappy, so where do you find that balance? Where do you get to do what you want and be happy? Life sucks.
